66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum
The city of Athens will host the 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum from 2nd until 4th of June 2021. The importance of this event is crucial, as the forum will focus on ways and methods to overcome the adversities the touristic industry will encounter in the post-Covid19 era.
The forum will discuss the opportunities and the challenges the European and International tourism industry has to manage under this unprecedented world situation due to the pandemics.
The focus of the 66th WTO’s European Regional Commission Forum is to determine clear-cut actions and precautionary measures, which will have to be endorsed and applied in pan-European level in order to achieve a sustainable touristic recovery.
66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum will discuss the intent of incorporating the necessary initiatives in WTO’s action plan, which will be approved during the WTO forum that will take place in Morocco in October 2021.
The Greek Minister of Tourism, mr. Charis Theocharis, commented the announcement of the upcoming 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum, “with immense pleasure we welcome to Athens the event of one of the most important bodies of the World Tourism Organisation, the European Regional Commission. Due to all the hard work, the responsible and safe touristic season during the previous summer, handling and managing the pandemic with innovative means, the introduction of the digital certificate for each and every vaccinated person, have brought Greece to be in a very important role over the touristic industry. By hosting the 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum in Athens, our country will be in the centre of decisive procedures for the post-pandemic era”.
During the 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum, there will be a conference titled: “Sustainable inshore and sea tourism in the Mediterranean: Challenges and opportunities in the post-covid era”.
66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum will be honouring with their presence the secretary-general of WTO mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, ministers of tourism and distinguished representatives of the global touristic industry.
