Coronavirus: not only a crisis
Even though coronavirus is bringing despair in various cases, there are still many institutions and companies that see it as a possibility rather than a setback. They view it with optimism as an opportunity to adapt. It can be achieved through the remote work, adaptability to the situation, exploring new markets and of course investing in social media.
To put it simply, the virus can be seen as a time for reflection in the hopes of building a better future once the pandemic is over.
It is a great opportunity to remember that humanity is a society in which we all belong. We need to understand that this is the possibility for the planet to heal. This is the unrepeatable chance for us to incorporate the telecommunication in the daily life as well as rething the future of the tourism model.
Also many destinations have decided to share love and care, ease tension and uplift people’s spirit, while being conscious enough to land prospective customers in future times. Different countries have different slogans encouraging everyone to stay home, from South African “Forfeit Today’s Travel, So You Can Travel Tomorrow” through Portugal’s “Can’t Skip Hope” to Norwegian “Dream Now, Visit Later”, to name just a few.
By staying home today, we can travel tomorrow! This is all in accordance with the UNWTO’s message of #TravelTomorrow, encapsulating the solidarity and hope and calling for shared responsibility among travelers and the tourism sector around the world to deal with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
