European Commission negotiates with Pfizer for the more vaccines

European Commission informed that was negotiating with Pfizer and BioNTech for more doses of vaccine against coronavirus. Role of EU Commission is significant because thanks to its negotiations provides vaccines to every member states on the same basis.

As of yet EC, which is holding talks with pharmaceutical companies has ordered 300 million doses on behalf of the European Union. However, for a purchase are responsible directly EU countries.

Extending order of procurement was possibly only due to the signed contract which, despite supply of 200 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine, provides the option of ordering an additional 100 million doses. The first 200 million doses are scheduled for completion by the end of September 2021.
