Thai elephants are starving as the number of tourists decline
The return of tourists to Thailand has not started and will not in the near future due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Lack of tourists entails with lack of money for elephant maintenance. No money means no food for animals and according to Eturbonews some of them are even too weak to stand despite their endurance and strength.
It costs about $60 a day to feed an elephant in Thailand which so war has been covered by arriving tourists.
