Air Mauritius reinstates New Delhi flights
Air Mauritius is expanding access to the Indian market with the resumption of direct flights to New Delhi from May 3.
The flights will be offered twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Flight MK744 will depart Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) at 21h15 and arrive in New Delhi at 06h15 the following day. Return flights will be on Thursdays and Sundays, with flight MK745 departing New Delhi at 08h00 and arriving at MRU at 14h00.
Air Mauritius already operates six weekly flights to Mumbai. In 2022, India was the island nation’s sixth-largest source market, accounting for 36 956 visitors.
Mauritius’s popularity amongst Indians has been stimulated by the country’s visa-free policy for Indian passport holders, along with strong cultural similarities. The resumption of direct flights to New Delhi is expected to further strengthen these ties.
