Airbnb chooses food
Airbnb ‘Cooking’, the latest category in its Experiences tours and activities division. In more details, it plans to offer culinary and cooking classes conducted by locals. According to the company, interest in this kind of activities has grown 160% since 2018.
Cooking Experiences hosts will range from farmers, professional and non-professional cooks and celebrities. The cooking theme will also include tours of famous food cities, such as Lisbon, Florence, Mexico City and Singapore with local culinary hosts. Additionally, Airbnb is searching for the world’s best home cooks to mark the launch.
The top 100 will be picked for a free trip to Slow Food’s University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy to train with chefs and culinary experts. They will then have a chance to create recipes which will be included in a special Airbnb cookbook to be published in 2020.
