IRCTC launches special tourist train for Jyotirlinga Yatra

Indian Railways is all geared up to start the Bharat Gaurav exclusive tourist train that will set off on its Jyotirlinga Yatra. The yatra will be of 8 nights and 9 days, which will begin on February 4, 2023.

Travellers will be able to board and deboard in Udaipur, Jaipur, Chaderiya, Bhilwara, and Ajmer. This special tourist train will be taking travellers to Veraval, Pune, Dwarka, Aurangabad, and Nashik, whereas the journey will be completed on February 12, 2023.

The Indian Railways inaugurated Bharat Gaurav Trains in November 2021, which is part of an initiative of the Union Government’s Dekho Apna Desh to boost domestic tourism. The idea of introducing the special tourist train is to explore the lush cultural heritage of India, and thereby offering a tour of the glorious historical places to both domestic and international tourists. The latest theme-based tourist trains will be heading for Jyotirlinga temple destinations, such as:

  1. Veraval: Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple
  2. Nashik: Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
  3. Dwarka: Grisneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple & Dwarkadish Temple
  4. Pune: Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple
  5. Aurangabad: Grineshwar Jyotirlinga Temple & Ellora Caves

This 3 AC Class train will have a capacity of 600 seats, which will be equally divided between superior and standard seats. While there will be 300 seats under the Standard section, another 300 seats will be under the Superior section. As regarding the ticket price, those travelling under the Superior category will have to pay INR 31,500 (per person) for single occupancy, INR 24,230 for double or triple occupancy, and INR 21,810 for children falling in the age group of 5 to 11 years.

However, those wanting to travel under the Standard category, will have to pay INR 27,810 for single occupancy, INR 21,390 for double or triple occupancy, and INR 19,260 for children under the age group of 5 to 11 years.
