Jeff Bezos steps down as a CEO of Amazon

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos will leave his post in the third quarter this year. Bezos will transition to the Executive Chair of the Amazon Board. His position as a CEO will be replaced by Andy Jassy who joined Amazon in 1997 and has led Amazon’s Web Services cloud team since its inception.

Jeff Bezos assured that he will still engage in Amazon’s vital projects however, he will also focus on the creation of his new project the Bezos Earth Fund. It aims to support scientists, activists, and charities working to fight the climate crisis.

Bezos is a founder of one of the biggest e-commerce Amazon. According to Forbes, he is one of the richest man in the world. As 2020 ended, Jeff Bezos’s wealth was estimated to be more than $185bn.
