Malindo Air adding fourth Australia route
Malindo Air is adding another service to Australia.
Its fourth Aussie destination will serve Adelaide from next month as part of a Kuala Lumpur-Bali-Adelaide route.
Malindo also flies to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.
Malindo sees big potential in the service particularly for the leisure market to Bali.
However, it will also offer business class and is the first to offer premium service between Adelaide and Bali for more than a decade.
Adding a Bali stop between KL and Australia is a tried and trusted strategy for Malindo Air.
It offers a similar routing on services to Melbourne and Brisbane.
“For Adelaide, we anticipate business, leisure, and VFR (Visit Family and Relatives) travellers, and will certainly explore on more frequencies in the near future,” the airline’s CEO Chandran Rama Muthy said.
“With this, we hope to boost passengers’ traffic at the airports and promote local tourism.”
Malindo started flying to Australia in 2015 with flights to Perth.
The airline will face competition from budget carrier Jetstar which is adding a second daily Adelaide-Bali flight which will run seasonally this summer.
