Mandarin Oriental to debut in Vietnam
Luxury hotel brand Mandarin Oriental will plant its flag in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.
The company has signed a management contract for Mandarin Oriental Saigon which is slated to open in 2020 in the mixed-use development Union Square Saigon.
The hotel will have 227 guestrooms and suites, a spa, a fitness centre, outdoor pool, six F&B outlets and meeting spaces.
– Ho Chi Minh city is the leading commercial hub in Vietnam and at the heart of the country’s rapidly growing economy. We are delighted to be opening a hotel in such a prime location – said James Riley, Group CEO of Mandarin Oriental.
It will become the brand’s first property in Vietnam, situated next to the Saigon Opera House.
The hotel will take over the upper floors of the development which is currently being renovated.
Union Square Saigon will also house luxury retail outlets.
– We are delighted to welcome Mandarin Oriental to this project, which will not only raise the level of luxury hospitality in the city, but will also increase awareness of Vietnam internationally – said Jonathan Au, general director of Union Square Saigon.
