Northern Poland is suffering from lack of tourists

Christmas and New Year’s Eve period is usually a time when the occupancy rate in the seaside resorts and hotels is high. However, this year due to the coronavirus restrictions Northern Poland suffers from lack of tourists. This is why the mayors and heads of 13 municipalities and coastal towns have appealed to the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The call comes in a response to government support for the southern part of Poland which has also suffered from the imposition of restrictions.

“Why does the Prime Minister forget us and our people?” – they raise the question in the letter and demand equal treatment for the Polish regions. The representatives of northern municipalities estimate that the loss of hotel owners can reach hundreds of millions of zlotys and yet there are others who make a living from tourism.
