Poland: new legal regulations in 2021

New regulations which enter into force in the beginning of the new year are part of the directions and comprehensive program of the Ministry of Development, Labor and Technology. A program called “Plan for work and development” focuses mainly on providing aid for entrepreneurs and to give them new direction and incentives for development. The plan includes a range of specific propositions in three key areas and each of them meets the different needs.

Most of the solutions are deployed, most of them will come into force with the beginning of the new year, and most of them are currently being developed for entrepreneur’s”. -Explains Jaroslaw Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Development, Labor and Technology.

“It is also a program of three pillars of actions for supporting business and employees and revive economy after coronavirus pandemic” – Gowin adds.

Among the new regulations is the new public procurement law introduced on 1st of January. It includes payments of compulsory advance and partial payments, the precise conditions of enumerations and its valorisation. There will be also no obligation for contracting authority to pay deposit. Also, with the new year new minimum wage will increase up to 2800 PLN and new hourly rate will be 18,30 PLN.

The program includes also a provision of the housing package which encompass a.e higher allowance for tenants who are affected by the COVID-19 (up to 1,500 PLN per month for six months, to cover up to 75% of the rent), increasing the availability of housing for low-income persons and improving housing conditions of already existing premises.

What will notably change is also the amount of the contribution to the Tourist Guarantee Fund and the Tourist Assistance Fund, which will be (depending on specific factors) from 0 to 15 PLN per each traveller.
