Possible increase in fees for A4

PLN 30 to PLN 35 may increase the fee on the A4 motorway section between Katowice and Krakow in Poland. Such a plan has a concession holder of this episode – Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska, who asked GDDKiA for permission to change the rate.

According to the information provided by SAM, the increases would be introduced from March 1, 2019. They would include vehicles of categories 2,3,4 and 5. For them, the fee would increase from PLN 30 to PLN 35. It would apply on every toll plaza, i.e. in Mysłowice and Balice. However, there are no plans to change charges for passenger vehicles.”Currently for category 2 and 3 vehicles from the above toll rate (PLN 30) applies a discount of PLN 10. The amount of the discount, which will be in force for these vehicles from March 1, 2019, will be separately consulted with GDDKiA “- said the concessionaire.

The right to change the rates of fees to the concessionaire is provided in the regulation of April 2004 on tolls for the motorway. According to it, fees may be changed by the concessionaire after they have been agreed with the General Director of National Roads and Motorways. The concessionaire must inform about the intention of the increase not later than two months prior to their introduction. It can not change rates more often than every 6 months. The last change covering vehicles of the same categories was introduced from March 2017. Then the rate increased from PLN 26.5 to PLN 30.
