Polish Tourism Organisation will spend PLN 50 million on promotions of Poland abroad

The countries of the European Union, the United States and Asian countries – these are the main markets on which the Polish Tourist Organization will promote Poland in 2019. The organization will focus on the promotion of Poland in the network, through social networks.

Its president, Robert Andrzejczyk in an interview with IAR pointed out that 75 percent of foreign tourists coming to Poland are citizens of the European Union. However, he ensures that the organization will also be active in other parts of the world. President Andrzej Andrzejczyk points to the Asian countries with which Poland has a direct air connection – including Japan, South Korea and China. In addition, the Polish Tourist Organization will organize actions addressed to the Polish diaspora in the United States. Among the important goals of this year’s campaign, the President of PTO also mentions Israel. “This is the fastest growing market for foreign arrivals to Poland,” said Andrzej Andrzejczyk.

In the spring, PTO will continue the “#Visit Poland” campaign. As part of it, popular travelers-bloggers will be invited to Poland, who will promote leisure in our country through online relations. This year, the campaign will be aimed primarily at Instagram users. “Pictures, short comments plus cooking. Cuisine, is what we want to put in 2019 and Instagram is a great tool for this “- said Robert Andrzejczyk.

The Polish Tourist Organization will also actively participate in tourist fairs around the world. She prepared a new national stand, which will be officially premiered in March during a tourist fair in Berlin. In addition, PTO will invite filmmakers from around the world to Poland and encourage them to make large productions at open air locations located in Poland.

In 2018, 19 million foreign tourists came to Poland. This year, according to estimates by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and POT, their number may exceed 20 million. The total POT budget for promoting Poland abroad this year is PLN 50 million.
