Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its footprint across Europe with new and upcoming hotels in Greece, Poland and Spain.

In Greece, the group reported ‘record growth’ with four signings and three openings so far this year. This includes the signing of two hotels in Athens: The Social Kolonaki Athens Hotel, part of the Radisson Individuals portfolio of independent hotels, set to open in November, and the 100-room Radisson RED Mitropoleos Square Athens, which will mark the brand’s debut in the country when it opens in the second half of 2023.

The group’s portfolio in Greece now stands at eight hotels and resorts with nearly 1,000 rooms in operation and under development.

Rapid expansion has also taken place in Poland, where the group currently has 17 hotels and a further six under development. The Radisson RED Gdańsk, which features 30 rooms on Granary Island, and the 172-room Andersia Hotel & Spa Poznań both opened in August, both as brand debuts for the Polish market.

Radisson Blu Resort & Conference Center, Ostroda, is set to open in early 2023, while the summer will see the opening of Radisson RED Krakow and Radisson Apartments Krakow, both part of the Unity Centre business complex.

The Radisson RED brand also recently debuted in Spain with the opening this month of Radisson RED Madrid (pictured). The 260-room hotel features meeting facilities and a rooftop terrace and is part of the group’s plan to open 20 new hotels in the country within the next five years.

Radisson Hotel Group executive vice president and global chief development officer, Elie Younes, said the group has had “an incredibly active year” and remains “responsive and optimistic” for further growth.

“The macro environment brings further ambiguities and uncertainties which will hopefully also unveil some opportunities in the coming 12 months within our industry,” he said.
