Ryanair demands EU action over air traffic control strikes

Ryanair

Budget carrier Ryanair is pleading for the EU to intervene to stop flight disruption over Europe.

The ongoing air traffic control strike in France has badly disrupted its services.

It wants a guarantee overflying France won’t be restricted.

The airline claimed more than a million passengers had flights disrupted, most of which were not flying to or from France.

Ryanair has now launched a petition calling on the EU Commission to address the issue immediately.

It hopes to get one million signatures.

Meanwhile, the French government survived a vote of no confidence, meaning pension protests will likely continue.

A new series of strikes have been called for Thursday which will likely bring more travel chaos.
