SA Department of Tourism calls for applications for tourism funding
SA’s Department of Tourism has opened applications for funding to all eligible tourism businesses.
Applications for the Tourism Transformation Fund (TTF) and the Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) will be open from April 1 to June 30.
TTF
All majority black-owned tourism enterprises looking to establish a new tourism business, or expand an existing tourism business can apply to the fund, which is a dedicated capital investment mechanism to drive transformation in the tourism sector. It aims to assist small and micro black-owned tourism enterprises to expand and grow, with the goal of creating a new generation of black-owned, youth, women and community-based tourism industrialists.
Further information, application forms and guidelines are available on the National Empowerment Fund website.
GTIP
The GTIP has the objective of encouraging private-sector tourism enterprises to move toward the sustainable management of water and energy resources, while adhering to responsible tourism practices. Through grant funding, the programme assists private-sector tourism enterprises to reduce the cost of investing in more energy- and water-efficient operations, while increasing their competitiveness and profitability in the long term.
It is managed by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) on behalf of the Department of Tourism. More information, application forms and guidelines are available on the IDC website.
