Sky Lantern Festival – must-attend event has been announced

New Taipei City Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival was once voted by TripAdvisor as “the most recommended cultural activity for international travelers in Taiwan”.

The event organizer, New Taipei City Government, will once again hold the large sky lantern release party on 2/16 (Sat.) and 2/19 (Tue.) evening this year.

Every year, the festival is held at the Pingxi district, New Taipei city, Taiwan, and is known for its spectacular scene of hundreds of lanterns rising at the same time. It is also a must-visit travel adventure for many Japanese, Korean, European and American tourists.

In addition to participating in the festival and experiencing the local sky lantern culture, there are also rich tourist resources around the Pingxi district. Tourists can take the Pingxi/Shen’ao line – the Taiwan Railway to play it all the way. Dahua, Shifen, Wanggu, Lingjiao, until the last station – Jingtong, every station it passes on the way has its own characteristics.

In particular, the railroad tracks are close to the shophouses, traditional strip street houses and quaint mini-station, which are all worth a visit. Besides, in the vicinity of the Jingtong Railway Station, there is a “Police Sky Lantern Pavilion”, which is one of a kind and a must-see attraction in Pingxi.
