Top destination for 2020

What will be the top destination for 2020 among Europeans? eDreams states that Tokyo is the winner, with 90% more bookings in comparison to last year.

The reason is quite simple – in 2020 Tokyo will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games. However, Japan showed to be more and more interesting for the European travelers in recent years. Japan Tourism Organization announced that by 2020 they want to host about 40 million inbound tourists. By 2030 this number will reach 60 million.

European tourists chose exoticism – the second destination is in Martinique and the third in Guadeloupe. Thai Phuket is four and only the fifth position is in Europe – it is Porto in Portugal. In the Top 10 only three places are in Europe – aforementioned Porto, as well as Spanish Lanzarote and Amsterdam which placed 10 on the list.
