Tourism back to 1990 levels
The global tourism industry lost 935 billion dollars in the first 10 months of 2020 due to pandemic and imposed restrictions.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) destinations welcomed 900 million fewer international tourists between January and October compared with the same period of 2019. Based on current data, UNWTO forecasts that international arrivals will decline by up to 70% by year-end.
“This means that world tourism has returned to 1990 levels.” – UNWTO adds.
