US Embassy issues Philippines travel warning
The US Embassy in Manila is advising its citizens that it has received ‘credible information’ that terrorist groups may be planning to conduct kidnapping operations targeting foreign nationals.
It believes terror groups are targeting areas of Palawan Province, including Puerto Princesa City and the areas surrounding Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.
The UK Foreign Office said: “You should carefully consider travel plans, and exercise heightened vigilance in these areas.”
