US requires negative Covid tests for travellers from China
The United States will require Covid tests for all inbound travellers from China.
The policy takes effect from January 5.
It applies to all flights from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Covid tests must be taken within two days before departure.
A recovery certificate can be used in place of a negative test result.
China is scrapping mandatory quarantines from January 8, with outbound travel set to resume at scale.
India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan have also imposed travel restrictions on travellers from China.
