Weekend Gatwick Airport strike off

Gatwick Airport

This weekend’s Gatwick Airport strikes have been called off.

Unite says workers voted in favour of improved pay rises.

ASC workers voted in favour of a double digit pay rise, while workers at Menzies voted for a 13% increase for ground handling staff.

The lowest paid staff will get 17% increase, as well as improvements in annual leave and sick pay.

It means both disputes have now ended, and so airport strike action this weekend is cancelled.

Gatwick DHL workers this week called off their strike after voting to accept a 15% pay deal.

Separately, workers at GGS have begun balloting on an improved pay offer.

The planned strike by GGS workers was set to begin tomorrow but was suspended to allow for the pay deal ballot of members.
