Windstar Cruises stretching three ships
Windstar Cruises’ small ships are about to get a little bigger.
The line announced a $250 million fleet upgrade project which will lengthen its Star-Class vessels.
The ‘Star Plus Initiative’ will see three ships lengthened by 25.6 meters, adding 50 new suites.
That will take passenger capacity of the Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride to 312.
“This exciting initiative is our solution to add new capacity and major enhancements to the guest experience in a very time efficient manner,” said Windstar president John Delaney.
Each ship will also get a ‘more fuel efficient and environmentally responsible’ propulsion system.
Onboard enhancements include a newly expanded pool, refurbished spa facilities, two new dining venues and two new Owner’s Suites.
Work will commence at Fincantieri Shipyard in Sicily in October 2019.
