The focus of the 66th  WTO’s European Regional Commission Forum is to determine clear-cut actions and precautionary measures, which will have to be endorsed and applied in pan-European level in order to achieve a sustainable touristic recovery.

The Greek Minister of Tourism, mr. Charis Theocharis, commented the announcement of the upcoming  66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum, “with immense pleasure we welcome to Athens the event of one of the most important bodies of the World Tourism Organisation, the European Regional Commission. Choosing Greece, especially during these circumstances, to host this forum is a proof of the amount of trust WTO puts in our country. In the same time, it is a confirmation of the upgraded prestige Greece enjoys worldwide. Due to all the hard work, the responsible and safe touristic season during the previous summer, handling and managing the pandemic with innovative means, the introduction of the digital certificate for each and every vaccinated person, have brought Greece to be in a very important role over the touristic industry. By hosting the 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum in Athens, our country will be in the centre of decisive procedures for the post-pandemic era”.

During the 66th World Tourism Organisation’s European Regional Commission Forum, there will be a conference titled: “Sustainable inshore and sea tourism in the Mediterranean: Challenges and opportunities in the post-covid era”.
