Giorgio Tuti elected as new President of the European Transport Workers’ Federation

During a meeting in Split, Croatia, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) elected Giorgio Tuti as its new President. He succeeds Belgian Frank Moreels, who stepped down to assume the presidency of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) .

A Swiss national, Giorgio Tuti has been active in the trade union movement since 1988. He served as President of the Swiss Transport Workers’ Union (SEV) from 2009 to 2023 and has been Vice-Chair of the Swiss Trade Union Confederation since 2009. Since 2017, he has chaired the ETF Railways Section .

The new President aims to continue efforts to improve working conditions in the transport sector and strengthen ETF’s position in Europe. His term will last until the next ETF Congress in 2027 .
