A 36-year-old Israeli citizen was arrested at Phuket Airport after allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Finnish tourist on Thailand’s Koh Samui island. The incident occurred on March 29, when the victim was out at a bar with two Danish friends. During the evening, two unknown men joined their table. After walking together on the beach, her friends returned to the bar, leaving her alone with one of the men.
According to her statement, the man ignored her resistance and forced sexual contact. She reported the incident at Bo Phut Police Station shortly after. Authorities reviewed CCTV footage and immigration records, identifying the suspect as David Eisa. He was apprehended on March 31 while attempting to leave the country through Phuket Airport.
The case has drawn widespread attention and reignited discussions around the safety of international tourists in Southeast Asia’s holiday destinations. Legal proceedings are now underway, and the suspect remains in police custody.
