7 Spanish airports awarded for their quality

The Airports Council International (ACI) has recognised seven airports in the Aena network in different categories within its airport service quality programme (ASQ). This programme values the commitment to improving the passenger experience of airport facilities with different awards.

This recognition, which is awarded based on the size and number of passengers, went to Palma de Mallorca Airport as the best airport for between 25 and 40 million passengers; to Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández in the segment of between 15 and 25 million passengers and to the airports of El Hierro, Pamplona, Reus, the International Region of Murcia and Asturias in the segment of under two million passengers.

In addition, in 2022, new award categories have been introduced to assess the actions carried out by airports to meet passengers’ needs at their facilities. These include the “Easiest Airport Journey in Europe” awards, which went to Murcia; “Cleanest Airport in Europe”, awarded to Reus and “Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe” won by El Hierro, in the Canaries.
