British Airways is adding new short-haul routes from London Gatwick through its new BA Euroflyer subsidiary.

The airline is adding flights to the French city of Montpellier from 27 May, operating three times per week, as well as the Greek islands of Corfu (three per week) and Mykonos (weekly), which will start on 30 May and 10 June respectively.

BA will also operate a summer service from Gatwick to Salzburg in Austria three times per week from 28 March, which will complement the existing winter flights on the route.

The final move sees the airline introduce a route to the Austrian city of Innsbruck for next winter, starting on 8 December and operating eight times per week. This forms part of a schedule of 21 destinations from Gatwick for the 2023/24 winter season, which is now on sale.

Tom Stoddart, acting CEO of BA Euroflyer, said: “It is exciting to see our short-haul schedule at Gatwick grow. These additional routes are to a broad range of destinations that will suit all manner of travellers.”

The expansion comes after BA Euroflyer received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) last month, which will allow it to operate in a similar way as the existing BA Cityflyer subsidiary based at London City airport.

The Gatwick short-haul operation will serve just under 40 destinations throughout 2023 and offers both business and economy cabins on all flights.
