Disney Cruise Line is reportedly keen to buy the still unfinished Global Dream mega cruise ship

Global Dream was being built for Genting Hong Kong at German shipbuilder MV Werften.

It is now in limbo due to Genting HK’s collapse.

There were previous reports it could go directly to the scrapyard.

Now German news outlet NDR suggests Disney Cruise Line wants to buy it, as per insolvency administrator Christoph Morgen.

The 208,000 gross ton Global Dream had a construction cost of €1.6 billion.

Global Dream was intended for the Asian market and specifically designed for Asian cruisers

State Economic Minister Reinhard Meyer declined to confirm but did say discussions with Disney Cruise Line have taken place.

It is thought construction is about three-quarters completed.
