Ukraine to sell its gas below the market price

Ukraine’s authorities decided to reduce the gas cost below market price for private recipients. It means a fall in a payment of about 30%.

The decision was made after the meeting with Ukraine President, Wołodymyr Zełenski.

However, according to the Prime Minister, Denis Shmygal, it will not result in moving away from market-based regulation of the gas price. The introduction of the lower price is a temporary measure that may help to reduce the economic difficulties which Ukrainians currently face.

The strategy is set to start in February.
