Virgin Atlantic is officially the newest SkyTeam member airline.

Virgin Atlantic became the alliance’s first and only UK member airline.

It boosts the alliance’s transatlantic network to and from London Heathrow and Manchester airports.

Virgin Atlantic customers now have access to 1,000 global destinations in over 170 countries.

Customers can book every SkyTeam member flight on a single ticket, and check in with baggage just once through to the final destination.

Virgin’s Flying Club members have more opportunities to earn Virgin Points and Tier Points across all SkyTeam member airlines.

Other members include China Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, Korean Air, and Vietnam Airlines.

Virgin Atlantic flies to 12 destinations in the US in partnership with Delta and Air France-KLM including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Last year the airline launched services to two new US destinations, Austin and Tampa.
