The ETIAS visa waiver system has been delayed again.

The European Travel Information and Authorisation System had been pushed back to November but will not be ready until 2024.

It was first planned to begin in 2022.

The scheme’s site now cites ‘starting from 2024’ but no specific date has been announced.

It requires non-EU citizens to register for pre-approval to visit a EU country and costs €7.

The authorisation lasts for three years, and allows multiple trips to different countries in the bloc.

It is required for UK nationals and American citizens.

The system rollout has been pushed back many times as members nations say the system will severely increase delays at border checkpoints.
