Paris launches traveller card

Navigo Easy is a new, prepaid Paris travel card for tourists and residents, it replaces Paris Metro tickets from June 12.

The card is available from any Metro/RER/Transilien ticket office and costs €2 (R33).

A single trip costs €1,90 (R31), 10 Metro tickets cost €14,90 (R249), a ticket for Orly airport to Paris Denfert-Rochereau station costs €8,30 (R139) and a Navigo Day Pass costs between €7,50 (R125) and €17,80 (R298).

Travellers cannot load more than one Navigo Day Pass on to the card at any one time. To use Navigo Day Pass for multiple days using Navigo Easy, travellers need to recharge daily.

The Navigo Easy card can be shared between travellers, but not for the same trip at the same time.

The paper-based single-use Metro tickets will be phased out by 2020.
