Tourists play their part in Uganda eco-tourism project

The eco-tourism project launched by Volcanoes Safaris in Uganda, will allow guests to enjoy guided walks in the private reserve surrounding the Kyambura Gorge Lodge, as well as in the Kyambura Gorge Buffer Zone and the Kyambura Wetland.

To support the expansion of the buffer, visitors will also be invited to plant a tree in the buffer zone.

“Volcanoes Safaris and the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust are the single largest stakeholders in the Gorge eco-system after the Ugandan Wildlife Authority,” said Founder of Volcanoes Safaris, Praveen Moman. “Without the intervention of Volcanoes Safaris and Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust, the survival of the gorge and the isolated community of 27 chimps would be under severe threat. These measures will help protect the chimpanzees, wildlife and birds in the ecosystem, increase visitor numbers and increase economic benefit for communities.

A visit to Kyambura Gorge Lodge can also be combined with a stay at Bwindi Lodge to create a seven-day gorilla, chimp and wildlife safari.
