Travel off Path, a popular travel website, listed seven reasons why travelers to Egypt would hit record numbers in 2023, encouraging thousands to be part of the record.

Affordability is a key factor, as the Egyptian pound has been depreciated a few times in the past months. According to budgetyourtrip.com, a one week trip to the country costs only $181 on average, minus the flights.

The visa is another reason. Nationals from some 180 countries, including the U.S., the U.K., and Canada can have a five-year visa, with which they can stay for 90 at a time. That is great news for travelers who like to explore a country in depth and up close.

More and more transactions are being made with credit cards. It is also safer than ever. These are two very good reasons for those who have been postponing Egypt on their checklist to finally fulfill their dream.

Nile cruises are simply mind blowing, with short ones from Luxor to Aswan, and long ones from Cairo all the way to Aswan, such as the one offered by Viking Anton luxurious boat. The cruise from the capital to the south passes through, Luxor, Qena, Esna, Edfu, and other cities. All these cities host incredible temples, monuments, and landscapes, which a traveler would experience while on a dreamy cruise along River Nile.

The Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s to-be largest archaeological museum complex, will be inaugurated by the end of 2023. It is some 1.2 miles from the Giza pyramids; visitors would be able to see the great ancient structures from the museum.

Direct flights from the U.S. and the U.K. would make a huge difference in traveler turnover. Only in June 2023, EgyptAir Newark to Cairo route was launched. They also launched a 5X-weekly service from Cairo to Manchester, the only direct UK-to-Cairo route other than London.
