WTTC, UNWTO team up to drive global tourism innovation

For the first time, the big two global tourism organisations are teaming up.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the UN World Tourism Organization agreed to work together across a number of key objectives.

They inked a Memorandum of Understanding to boost public-private sector cooperation at the global level.

The aim is to promote global tourism job creation, talent development and business opportunities.

WTTC and UNWTO will promote tourism to help develop entrepreneurship and investment for a more sustainable tourism sector.

It will include collaboration around crisis preparedness, management, and recovery.

Julia Simpson, WTTC President said “Together we can create a powerful synergy that will shape the global landscape, benefiting travellers.”

The MOU was signed at the G20 Tourism Minister’s meeting in India.
